Love's Myths Exploded

I am going to be the Myth Buster on the topic of Love.  This goes out to my single buds.
Myth No.1
Love comes when you are not looking and when you least expect it.
Look but don't look; seek too hard and you'll be sorry about what you find.  These words are profoundly irritating to a single woman.  Everything in this society tells you to find love and yet you are suppose to pretend you can blithely live without it and act busy in the meantime.  This is crazy.  If you see someone at a party and you act on your attraction, is it hunting?  I think it's just normal.  If you go to extra social events in the hope of meeting someone, is that desperate? Sometimes it's practical.
According to the movies, boy meets girl when girl is inevitably carrying groceries, with French Bread sticking out, to her brand-new one bedroom apartment, oblivious to all admirers.  Okay, there is some truth in this.  Nothing is more attractive (in a man or woman) than strength and containment.  However, the idea of being strong, single, and ready for love shouldn't be seen as a weakness or contradiction.  Perhaps in place of the old adage there could be an updated homily that goes something like:  Love comes when you last expect it; and love comes when you pray all afternoon; love comes when you are wonderfully together, and love comes when you are falling apart.  Just have faith that it will come.
But here is a link for French Bread just incase you need it.
